Q: What are bodybuilding supplements?

A: Bodybuilding supplements are often taken by bodybuilders and athletes that want to build lean muscle mass and also to improve performance. Bodybuilding supplements are usually composed of a blend of vitamins, minerals and natural energy vitalizing substances. These substances are useful to promote the growth of muscle and tissues that get broken down after a workout at the gym.

Q: Who should use a testosterone booster?

A: People from variety of age groups can benefit from taking a testosterone booster.  The normal range for testosterone levels in men is broad and varies by stage of maturity and age. It is normal for levels to decline as men age, so using a product that will boost your natural testosterone levels will be beneficial in may areas including strength, muscle gain, recovery and libido. If you are older than 25 when the hormonal production begins to decline you may benefit from a booster but teenagers produce approximately the equivalent of a 300 mg shot of testosterone per week anyway so there is no need to attempt to increase the production of testosterone in a system that is already producing at peak levels.

Q: How do I get big if I am a hardgainer?

A: A hardgainer is someone who is skinny and struggles to gain weight. Hardgainers find it hard to put on muscle mass usually due to two main things and these are an extremely fast metabolism and being very active and playing cardio sports regularly. First you need to eat, eat, eat. Comsume more calories than you are expending, try a weight gainer protein as they will give you a massive caloric intake, seize the post workout window of opportunity with carbs and proteins!  Reduce the amount of alcohol you drink as it has a muscle wasting effect. Reduce the amount of cardio you are doing, Low Reps Heavy Weights = MUSCLES and make time for sleep and adequate rest.

Q: I started going to the gym close to 3 months ago, I'm currently using a low carb whey protein with about 26g of protein a scoop, so I normally use 1 pre and 2 scoops post workout, I'm 20 and weigh mid 70kgs, is this the right sort of protein for ganing some muscle? I noticed my weight hasn't changed much in the 3 months but I'm not sure wether I'm losing weight and gaining muscle so it's balanced. I've got some fat/weight to get rid of too.

A:  All protein is great for gaining muscle. The issue might not be so much to do with the protein you are using but your diet as well. Perhaps a 50/50 of protein and carbs would work better for you as you may be what we class in the industry as a "hard gainer". Meaning you find it hard to put on size no matter what you do. We have a great 50/50 blend from International Protein called Extreme Mass.  You could always team it with a fat burner too.
